RRRRRRR es una banda formada por Lady Ego en el invierno de 1987, en Montevideo, Uruguay. Actuaron en directo por primera vez el 16 de agosto de 1989 en el teatro El Tinglado. Luego de este concierto al cual acudieron 160 personas, la prensa definió a RRRRRRR como: "Una Banda De Rock Gótico". En mayo de 1990, graban sus dos primeros demos: Núbeses Peleando y Frío. Con el transcurso del tiempo RRRRRRR experimentó constantes cambios, investigando nuevos sonidos y probando diferentes instrumentos en su música, como ser: teclados, máquina de ritmos, incluyendo dos y tres guitarras en sus presentaciones en vivo, grabando y editando siempre de manera independiente. La banda recorre el circuito underground montevideano desde hace 21 años, y ha actuado en lugares tan míticos entre otros, como por ejemplo: Juntacadáveres, La Cueva, o Amarillo. En julio de 2001, RRRRRRR actuó en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina, en el Ritual de Kuervos, teatro De La Piedad, siendo ésta la primera vez que la banda visita el extranjero. RRRRRRR estuvo en Buenos Aires por segunda vez en junio de 2004, en el marco de la Fiesta Gothic BA realizada en el pub Crimson. Lady Ego tiene como antecedente musical a la banda Insurrección (punk/darkcore), que existiera en Montevideo entre 1986 y 1987, en la cuál fué vocalista.
Luego de la separación de esta banda, ocasionada por problemas internos y musicales, Lady Ego comienza a experimentar sus ideas junto a otras personas hasta que quedara definida la primer formación de RRRRRRR, en 1987. En la actual propuesta musical de la banda, encontramos una base percusiva que apunta hacia ritmos primitivos y minimalistas, la línea de bajo es constante y sólida, las guitarras y los teclados aportan la parte atmosférica, creando climas para que el vocalista recorra líricamente, de canción a canción, momentos de brillante oscuridad. RRRRRRR está integrado actualmente por: Lady Ego (voz, guitarra y programación), Velvet Hierophant (guitarra), Angel Slade (bajo), Ambarette (batería) y Alejo (teclados), siendo la única banda que se ha mantenido vigente desde aquellos años, fiel al estilo que la caracterizó desde un principio, pese a los infinitos ca de integracion.

RRRRRRR was created by Lady Ego in 1987. Before beginning RRRRRRR,Lady Ego had previously given his voice to the (punk/darkcore) bandInsurrección (1986-1987), but after the band went their separate ways,Lady Ego began to experiment and develop his ideas in collaboration with others, until the first line-up of the band was defined, around 1987. After a year of rehearsal, RRRRRRR played their first gig at the theatre El Tinglado, inMontevideo, Uruguay.
After this gig, which was witnessed by 160 people, the press definedRRRRRRR as: "A Gothic Rock Band". Things developed further in May of1990, when they recorded their first and second demo tapes: Núbeses Peleando and Frío. They continued to record music and as the years passed by, RRRRRRR experimented and instituted several changes to their repertoire by investigating new sounds and trying out different instruments in their music, such as: keyboards, rhythm machines, and two to three guitars in their live performances. Also, one thing that can be said of RRRRRRR is that they have always edited and recorded independently. For over twenty years,RRRRRRR has been playing Montevideo's underground circuit. In their long history, the band has had the opportunity to travel and perform in mythical places as Juntacadáveres, La Cueva and Amarillo, as well as touring inBuenos Aires, Argentina twice, in 2001 and 2004 (which has been the only RRRRRRR shows outside Uruguay, thus far). Their current musical development has led them to expand to include: a percussive base, which points to primitive and minimalist rhythms, a solid, constant bass line, and guitars and synths which help create an atmosphere where one can hear the vocalist lyrically interceding, to give birth to moments of brilliant darkness.
