Ultimo resorte se formo en 1979 en Barcelona, descritos como obtusos, vehementes,cabezotas. La primera formación la constituían Silvia (voz), Juanito (bajo), Tommy (guitarra) y Miguel (batería), procedentes de Collblanch (Hospitalet), Sant Boi, Barcelona... El grupo pasará por montones de formaciones durante sus cinco años de vida; los únicos que no cambian son Silvia y Juanito. Silvia tenía cierta leyenda local por haber fotografiado a Sid y Nancy en su visita a Londres (78); Nancy se puso furiosa y acabaron las dos tirándose de los pelos.
En esta primera época les ayudaba un violinista-brujo llamado Scoty, autor de una letra (La bruja). Ya con su segunda formación, Jorge "Gabardino" (16 años) a la guitarra y Patrick Boissel a la batería (Juanito tenía entonces 19 y Silvia 20), tocan un par de veces en 2/80 el Bar Texas (actualmente el Sidecar), cerca de la Plaza Real (Barcelona), que se había convertido en el garito de los punks condales.
Entre tanto, entra Choli como guitarra en vez de Jorge "Gabardino", algo más tarde sustituye a P. Boissel Jorge (bt) y un tal Flint se vuelve su maquillador, peluquero y otros servicios. Esta formación actúa en un festival en Briviesca, un pueblo de Burgos, 10/8/80, acompañados por 16 punks (incluyendo a Loquillo), para tocar junto a Paraíso y Escaparates (Alaska, Ana y Eduardo Pegamoides) en una plaza de toros.La gente del pueblo mirando desde una montaña, escandalizados.


Loquillo, futura "rock & roll star" del país, en esa época era amigo tanto de los punks como de los rockers (que en cambio no paraban de pelearse). En un número de Rock Espezial (otoño '81) citará a U.R. como "de lo mejor que hay en este país". En 1980, también Alaska había dicho que UR era su grupo favorito de Barcelona. En noviembre de 1980, en el concierto de presentación de la nueva ola madrileña en el Palacio de los Deportes, con Trastos, Sissi, Greta y Alaska & Pegamoides, éstos invitaron a los Resortes a actuar. Ellos cerraron el concierto y gustaron mucho.

La cuarta formación, Silvia / Juanito / Choli / Jorge duró más que las anteriores; para principios de 1981 su repertorio propio incluía más de veinte canciones. Una maqueta grabada en el local en abril de ese año es la que se publicó en 1994 como el LP Post Mortem (Tralla), que refleja el sonido del grupo antes de 1982. Pero en vivo eran aún mejores. Pop-punk histérico.

En mayo de 1981, tras un bolo en el Magic, les entrevistaba Popular 1: "Si hacer ruido es punk rock, hacemos punk rock... Nos gustan Dead Kennedys, Rezillos y los Residents. El punk es la muerte del rock. Somos biodegradables. Podemos llegar a ser mucho más bestias aún... Hemos cogido del punk lo más esencial, la sencillez de composición, lo violento y rudimentario... El punk aquí no tiene salida". Con todo, en aquel momento recibieron alguna oferta discográfica; fue el propio grupo el que las rechazó.

A la vuelta, grabaron de nuevo para Flor y Nata, el 12" Una causa sin fondo (publicado ca. 7/83). Sonido mucho mejor que el EP, potente y más limpio, e incluso con algunos efectos. Cinco temas, muy rápidos excepto el primero, un poco de estilo Banshees. En la portada, imágenes de guerra y tortura; en la contraportada, una larga dedicatoria larga, en la que mencionan a la gente de Barcelona, grupos andaluces (TNT, KGB, Slips & Sperma), los grupos vascos -RIP, Vulpes, Cicatriz en la Matriz, el J. Destruye y otros-, Carlos Tena (que estaba sufriendo las consecuencias de haber puesto a las Vulpess en la TV) y grupos extranjeros: los Kennedys, Discharge, Crass, Subhumans, Dirt, los MDC, Iggy (de quien Mike era fan hasta la médula).

En los meses siguientes, dan algún concierto en el antiguo Zeleste (local clásico de los "progres" catalanes, al fin abierto a la nueva música). Pero a principios de 1984, Strong y Rosa se marchan. Quedan Silvia, Juanito y Mike; entra como guitarra Marc. En el debut de la nueva formación la cantante se pasó el concierto aguantando la caja al batería a la vez que cantaba; tal clase de cómica precariedad no era rara en la época...

En ese momento, UR habían hecho unos cincuenta conciertos, muy poca cosa visto hoy en día, pero una hazaña cuando CADA concierto era una aventura. En una entrevista del fanzine Penetración (n° 4, 2/84), Silvia sugería que era hora de dejar paso a otros... Algunos temas de la última época quedaron para el olvido, exceptuando unos pocos que de alguna manera llegaron a una cinta americana (Spanish HC, BCT Tapes, 10/84).

Silvia dejó la música durante muchos años (en 1986 escribió un par de letras para GRB); recientemente ha reaparecido con el grupo Berlín 80. Juanito y Mike formaron G.R.B. con el ex-cantante de Frenopaticss y Alberto (gt, Drama del Horror, banda además de fanzine), a los que se unió luego Strong.

Ultimo resorte was formed in 1979 in barcelona, described itself asobtuse, vehement and Bigheads. In this first age, a violinist called Scoty help to them and writtes the song (la bruja). Then with the new line up, Jorge"gabardino" (16 years old) on the guitar and pattrick Boissel as drummer (juanito had then 19 years old and Silvia 20), They played a couple of times in 2/80 el bar texas (now the sidecar), nead to the real square (barcelona),that it had become in the meet point of the local punk guys.

In the meantime, Choli came into the band instead Jorge, and a lit bit later boissel was replace by Jorge as drummer, and a guy called Flint became as a stylist and makeup desingner. This nw line up show up in the briviesca fest, lil villajeof Burgos,10/8/80, with another 16 punks that came with them (including "loquillo"), to play in the same fest with Paraiso y escaparates (alaska, ana y eduardo pegamoides) in a "plaza de toros".The villagers watch from a near montain all scandalized.

Loquillo, future rock star of the country, in that time was friend of the punks as the rockes as well. in a issue of the magazine Rock Espezial (fall '81) they said that "ultimo Resorte" as one of the best doing in Spain. in 1980 also Alaska said that Ultimo Resorte was one of her favorites bands of barcelona. In november of 1980, in a concert of presentacion of the new wave of madrid in rhe sport palace, with bands like "trastos, Sissi. greta y Alaska y los pegamoides" they invited to "ultimo Resorte" to act in that gig. they closed the event with a grat aceptation for the crowd.

The 4th line up were made by Silvia/juanito/jorge, and last more longer that the previous; in early of 81, they setlist was of more that 2o tracks. a demo that were recording in the local in april of 81 and were the one that were published in 1994 as the LP Post mortem, which reflects the sounds of the bands before 82. but live they were so much better.Histeric pop-punk.

In may of 1981, after a gig in "el magic", they were interviewded by "popular 1" "if making noise is punk rock, then we do punk rock... we like dead kennedys,rezillos, and the residents. The Punk is the dead of the rock, We're biodegradbles, and we can be even more best yet... we have be chose of the punk the more scential, the simple of the composition, the violent and the ridimentary... The punk here has no exit". With everything, in that time the recieve a offer of a record company and they reject it.

Then they recording once again for "flor y nata" the 12" Una causa sin fondo (published 7/83). sound better that the EP, powerfull, and wider, even with some efects. 5 tracks, very fast except the first one, kinda like the banshees. In the cover, images of war and torture, in the back cover, a large dedicatory, in wich they metioned grups of andalucia (tnt,kgb,slips & sperma), the grups of vasco- rip,vulpes,cicatriz en la matriz, el J.destruye and others, Carlos Tena(that was suffering the consecuences of put to the vulpes on tv)

For that time UR had had made at leats 50 concerts , nothing phenomenal at these days but in that time when every concert was an adventure. in an interview to the fanzine "penetracion", silvia said that it was time to let the way free for others... some theme were left forgotten, except some that in some way got ti a American tape (spanish HC,BCT,10/84).
Silvia left behind the music for a long time (in 1986 wrote a couple of lyrics for GRB); recently had re-apear with the band Berlin 80. Juanito and mike formed GRB with the ex-singer from frenopaticss and alberto(gt,drama del horror) and then join to them Strong.
